Jay-Z Signs Lil Wayne To Rocnation
Reportedly Jay-Z has signed fellow hip-hop star Lil’ Wayne to his new record label, Roc Nation, according to reports. They claim the rapper paid Lil’s Wayne’s current record label, Cash Money, $5million in order to secure the deal.The deal would unite two of the hip-hop industry’s biggest stars.
“The deal was in the works for a while; they just needed to get on the same page as to price. And [everyone’s] there now,” an unnamed source told the online publication.

Blueprint 3 May Not Drop This Year Afterall
It doesn't look like Jay-Z's Blueprint 3 is coming out this year. There still hasn't been a video for "Jockin' Jay-Z (Dope Boy Fresh)." Matter of fact, there hasn't been a word about the album in weeks, except that Hov is working on it.
The only confirmed information is that Jay and Kanye West have done a bunch of tracks together, and the early talk was that Kanye would be the only producer on the album. That is looking more unlikely now. We've been hearing a bunch of rumors about other producers Jay is collaborating with (who shall remain nameless — we don't do rumors, just facts). But one of those guys spoke to us recently: None other than Pharrell Williams, one of Jigga's main go-to guys.
"Of course," he said when asked whether Jay had called him to work on Blueprint 3. He then took a long pause before refusing to divulge any more info. "He don't like for you to say so much."

Jennifer Hudson Faces Family Tragedy

Police took William Balfour into custody Friday evening for an alleged role in the double murder of the mother and brother of entertainer Jennifer Hudson.
Balfour, an ex-con, was taken to a Chicago area precinct close to 10:00 pm Friday, but the search for a missing 7 year old relative continued into the night.
Additionally, reports say that Balfour has not been cooperating with authorities in their search for the child Julian King.
William Balfour, the prime suspect in the murder, is the husband of Hudson's sister. He is not believed to be the child's father. Balfour has been considered armed and dangerous, police said.
Earlier in the night, police charged that Balfour was driving a white Chevy Suburban SUV with Illinois license plate X584859 or a green Chrysler Concord sedan with a damaged left front headlight and body damage along the left side with temporary tags 332K823.

This evening ,tragic news hit the airwaves as fans of Singer/actress Jennifer Hudson family was found murdered in their Chicago home. Found dead was her mother and brother and her 7 year old nephew is also missing after the event. Police are looking for a suspicious white vehicle that was around the neighborhood at the time according to witnesses.

The Old Hollywood vibe outside the renovated Palladium, with the spotlights, red carpet and swarms of celeb-gawkers and people-watchers? The long-neglected venue's new sparkle and revelatory sound? DJ AM's aw-shucks return to performing?
No. This special night, on which a landmark Tinseltown concert hall was rechristened after a multimillion-dollar renovation, belonged to the headliner.
The large band kicked in, and rap's biggest act sauntered onstage. "Y'all wanna go all the way tonight," Jay-Z surmised about the crowd after his opening number. They did, and he obliged.
They were dancing early and often -- on the packed floor, in the VIP balcony, even in the VVIP balcony -- with folks throwing their hands in the air like they really do care. And there was plenty to care about as Jay-Z spent 95 minutes mining his catalog, which includes 10 No. 1 albums.
Acknowledging the Palladium's storied history early on, Jay-Z name-checked Frank Sinatra, the then-rising singer for the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra that christened the place in 1940. "I consider myself Ol' Brown Eyes," he said with a grin.
His raps were alternately speedy and slow, political and boastful, accusatory and celebratory. It was funky, sometimes poppy, a little old school, new school and middle school -- all the while branding the Roc. And the well-behaved crowd simply lapped it up.
Songs bled into one another, with few extended breaks between. One of several high points was the perpetual crescendo of the top 10 hit "Show Me What You Got," with the three-piece horn section and one of the two drummers working harder than they did all night.
After an affecting a cappella take on the Katrina requiem "Minority Report," which made heart-wrenching use of the Palladium's new giant HD screens, Jay-Z asked almost rhetorically, "How many people here votin' for Obama?" The pro-Obama theme was revisited several times.
But lest the excited crowd feel preached to, the rapper quickly said, "Let's change it up." "Public Service Announcement" fed into the current "Swagga Like Us," during which the star of the show said, "L.A., I brought someone with me tonight." Out moseyed the ubiquitous T.I., owner of the country's No. 1 album, to rap his and Lil Wayne's parts of Jay-Z's latest hit and deliver a sampling of his own songs.
The players slowed it up for the money-changes-everything lament of "Song Cry." But the letup didn't last long as the obese bass of "99 Problems" kicked matters right back up, complete with some midsong "Back in Black."
In his first stage appearance since last month's deadly plane crash, DJ AM humbly worked the decks for the full set, likely satisfied to be ceding the spotlight. Jay-Z acknowledged him halfway through, adding: "A quick shout-out to Travis Barker. We gonna party hard for them tonight." AM was visibly scarred but visibly happy to be back at work.
For the encore, Jay-Z -- predictably sporting his Rocawear gear -- commandeered the DJ's laptop, teasing with opening snippets of songs that riled up the crowd then dropped them cold. He finally settled on "Big Pimpin'," then wrapped what he called "a historic night" with the hit "Hard Knock Life (Ghetto Anthem)."

Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama will get a superstar boost next week when recording artist Jay-Z and NBA great LeBron James lead a free rally and concert in Cleveland to encourage early voting.The Last Chance for Change rally is set for Wednesday at The Q. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.
Seven-time Grammy winner Jay-Z will put on a concert that promises to pump up support for Obama while James will serve as the host.
The event is free and open to all Ohio residents and students, but a ticket is needed to get in.Two free tickets per person are available on a first-come, first-served basis at Obama headquarters across Northeast Ohio. ESSENCE.COM: Last night’s finale of “Making The Band 4” was sort of subdued drama with a pretty ambiguous ending. Diddy has left the ladies of Danity Kane to decide what the group’s future will be. What is your hope for the group?
DAWN RICHARD: We talked about it and there’s a fear we have of losing our fan base. But at the end of the day, Diddy made his choice to let us decide and we would like to continue with the name and the group. This is our lives and you can’t just say no to your dreams. I love working with the group. However, it’s so hard to say what will happen. I would prefer that the original group members remain. It’s hard enough for fans to follow as is.
ESSENCE.COM: Diddy is a beast when it comes to whipping his groups into shape and his truth hurts. He already let Aubrey go and then D. Woods was a no-show last night. Have you spoken or plan to speak to any of the ladies?
RICHARD: No, I haven’t. Honestly, we really don’t talk that much, but I wish them the best of luck. I showed up, and as one person, I can only do so much. If they want to get in touch with me, they will because I totally support them and always will. All of this stuff affects us because these are our lives. Diddy tells us to try to save our group and some of us don’t show up? We’re making a serious statement to him about the future of this group by doing so.

Police also say he refused to submit to a breathlayzer test as well. He was charged with felony weapon possession by a convicted felon. and he faces charges of attempting to elude, as well as discharging a firearm near a public highway and refusing to take the sobriety test. Lyfe — real name Chester — was in prison from 1992-2002 after being convicted of arson.

An increase in government spending for domestic infrastructure, especially within the telecommunications industry, would mean an increase in demand for these products that have made Corning a brand name. Corning is trading at a very low 4.09 P/E ratio due to its disappointing third quarter earnings report. There is no surefire way to navigate the stock market in its recent manic state. If the overall market gets hit, Corning will go right down with it, but it may be worth investigating further at this low price.

Obama Advertisements in Video Games? Yes Its True

Barack Obama's ads are now appearing in several sports video games, including the granddaddy of them all, Madden football.
The Obama campaign has purchased space in the popular Xbox 360 game "Madden NFL 09″ and nine other titles by video game maker Electronic Arts, said Holly Rockwood, the company's director of corporate communications.
Only gamers playing online in 10 states can see the ads, which appear as stadium signage or billboards, Rockwood said. (The ads are downloaded when gamers log on to the Xbox Internet service.) Unsurprisingly, all 10 states are swing states: Colorado, Florida, Iowa, Indiana, Montana, North Carolina, New Mexico, Nevada, Ohio and Wisconsin. President Bush won all of those states in 2004 except for Wisconsin.
The ads began running Oct. 6 and will be visible until Nov. 3, the day before Election Day, Rockwood said.
The other Xbox games where the ads appear are "Burnout Paradise," "NASCAR 09," "NHL 09," "NBA Live 08," "Need For Speed: Carbon," "Need For Speed: ProStreet," "NFL Tour," and "Skate."

The second debate, taking place in Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee, will be set up like a town hall meeting.
The first and third debates are divided into approximately eight 10-minute segments. The moderator introduces each segment with an issue and gives each candidate two minutes to respond. Then there is a five-minute discussion period, when direct exchanges between the candidates occur.
The candidates on Tuesday will not only take questions from moderator Tom Brokaw of NBC News, but they'll also answer questions from people in the audience and from Internet participants.
The audience will be made up of uncommitted voters.
"These debates, town hall debates, are often very telling, they often provide the most dramatic moments in a campaign," said Bill Schneider, CNN's senior political analyst.
"If either of the candidates tries to go negative when you're with an audience of ordinary voters, they don't like it. We've heard them sometimes get very upset when the candidates start attacking each other, so that's going to be hard to do in a town hall format," he said.

The Hall of Fame football star was convicted of kidnapping, armed robbery and 10 other charges for gathering up five men a year ago and storming into a room at a hotel-casino, where the group seized several game balls, plaques and photos.
Prosecutors said two of the men with him were armed; one of them said Simpson asked him to bring a gun.
Many people considered the four-week trial justice delayed. Simpson was cleared in 1995 of murdering his ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and her friend, Ronald Goldman, in one of the most sensational trials of the 20th century, but was later found liable for the deaths in a civil case.

Jay Z will perform a concert in Detroit October 4th and another in Miami on Oct 5th. The tickets will be distributed through Obama's local campaign offices.
